| My Opinions and factual comparisons of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Before you say ANYTHING, I'm not bias, I owned BOTH systems so this is coming from my experience owning BOTH systems.
THE PRICES: I'd like to comment on how there is only a small difference in price when it comes to price between an xbox360 and a PS3.
When buying a PS3: The system comes with a 120gb hard drive, it's a newer slim model, has internal wireless internet, the included wireless controller has a lithium rechargeable battery, and the system plays hi definition blu ray movies. Expect to pay $300 for this system with the features listed.
Upon buying a 360, It also comes with a 120gb hard drive, the included wireless controller comes with AA batteries slot in which you must insert AA batteries inside, came with no internal wireless internet. Comes with a headset for online gaming.
- To play internet wirelessly you must purchase the $100 add on. - There is no current add on to make the 360 play blu rays.
Expect to pay $300 for the xbox 360 system plus pay an extra $100 for the extra wireless internet peripheral.
In this comparison, the xbox 360 is inferior because you start off paying $300 for the basic package, but you still are gonna need to fork out $100 for wireless internet so you end up paying more for an xbox 360. I found that based on buying the system console alone, the Playstation 3 seemed to be a more bang for you buck because you didn't have to spend the extra $15 buying a charger cable and charge battery for the controller because the PS3's came with it. The Playstation 3 system plays Blu ray discs off the bat when the xbox 360 only plays dvd's.
***I'll give PlayStation 3 the Win for this one -------------------------------------------------------- GAME PLAY:
The xbox 360 seemed to have more exclusive games to the system than the playstation 3 system. The debate is that most of the exclusives weren't "superior games" with the exception of the games: Halo, Left for Dead, and Mass Effect. The system plays all those games flawlessly, the graphics are amazing, and the system is a fun system to play with others.
The Playsation 3 has less exclusive games but the exclusive ones sent out happen to be good too, such as Metal Gear Solid 4, InFAMOUS, and Killzone 2. The system played the games well, has excellent graphics and the system is fun to play with others.
In this comparison, it depends on the games you like. Me for instance, could go with either system. The games I happen to like come out on both system anyways, such a Rockband 2, Call of Duty, and Soul Calibur, Need for speed. So I'm fine with either system in this stat. But as for others, I guess it just depends on how much you like a certain game.
***Neither System is inferior to another. Both systems handle games flawlessly. -------------------------------------------------------- THE ONLINE:
The xbox 360's online is very organized, very presentable, and has many features such as online messaging through MSN messenger. What goes with this online is that you pay for it. Not a very big fee, but it cost $8 a month to have this online feature. The xbox 360 also has a somewhat doofy looking headset that you plug into the controller and wear on your head like head phones.
The Playstation 3's online is very organized, not so well presentable and doesn't have the many features that xbox 360 does. What goes well is that you don't pay a cent for this online. It does the basics, it goes online, lets you link with other players, and play your games with them. The PS3, being it has bluetooth capabilities, you can use a small bluetooth device you use for your phone for the headset on the system.
In this comparison, it depends on how much you care about extra peripherals in the online world. I am a very avid gamer and I love to play online, what i found out most of the time when i played online with either system is that I only went online to play with players, i didn't care about extra features and liked the regular, which is why I would have to go with PS3 here for me.
BUT, as most of the majority of people, The xbox 360 has FAR better online features and capabilities.
***I'll give Xbox 360 a Win for this one

STORAGE:
Now it's just unfortunate that the xbox 360 only plays dvds because that means their games are also on dvd. A dual layer DVD holds 9gbs, a Dual Layer Blu ray holds 50gbs. Metal Gear Solid came out for the PS3 only, because the games file was about 40gbs, and could not fit on a regular dvd disc unless it was heavily compressed. Upcoming game, Final Fantasy XIII has to span out to 3 dual layer dvds where PS3 the game is going to be burned on ONE dual layer Blu ray disc. As technology progresses, and more game developers want to make their games larger, more CG, more content, a 9GB DVD disc is not going to cut it. I give a BIG win to Sony on this one.
*** The win goes to PS3

RECAP OF COMPARISONS - Xbox 360 price $300 + $100 for wireless internet = $400 / PS3 price $300 - PS3 WINNER - Xbox 360 control with AA batteries / PS3 rechargeable batteries- PS3 WINNER - Xbox 360 DVD Player / PS3 Bluray hi def and DVD player - PS3 WINNER
- Xbox 360 Games exclusive / PS3 games exclusive - XBOX 360 WINNER - Xbox 360 exclusive games 9.0+ rating / PS3 games exclusive with 9.0+ rating - TIE - Xbox 360 NET FLIX Subscriber / PlayStation store standard movie downloads - Xbox360 WINNER - Xbox 360 Overall Online features / PS3 Overall Online Features - XBOX 360 WINNER - Xbox 360 monthly online price = $8 / PS3 Overall online price =$0 - PS3 WINNER - Xbox 360 failure rate/reliability / PS3 faliture rate/reliability - PS3 WINNER - Xbox 360 usage of disc space 9gb / PS3 Blu ray disc space 50gb - PS3 Winner
In total, we have SIX wins for the Playstation 3, THREE wins for the Xbox 360, and ONE tie. ---------------------------------------------------------- I personally choose the PS3 because I like the Blu ray movies, not paying for online fees, cheaper controller prices because they come pre packed with rechargeable batteries, and I like that the system lets you use 3rd party accessories easily. EX: You can plug in any USB mouse, keyboard, or change out your hard drive easily, you can't do any of those things on an xbox 360.
BUT, if you like better online for only $50 a year, LOVE the HALO game serious, LOVE netflix streaming, don't mind spending the extra $100 for the wireless internet, and don't care for Blu ray movie watching, then 360 is the way to go for you!
***Only reason if you hear I don't have a 360 anymore is because mine got the infamous red ring of death and it died, and I didn't want to spend money to buy another one. BUT, at that said, I DID give the system a chance in order to make this a fair comparison.
